Danielle Dorman-Chapa, Owner/Director

Danielle fulfilled a life-long dream when she opened Mudpies & Lullabies. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 1995 and has worked in education since that time. Her experience includes everything from teaching high school students to working as a curriculum director for a well-known preschool franchise. Danielle and her husband J.J. have 3 children; Kennedy, Ian & Liberty. During her free time, she enjoys reading, having fun with her kids and keeping up with local politics.

Melissa Belanger, Assistant Director

Melissa has been a part of the Mudpie Team since day one. She has worked in early childhood education since 1998. She has taken child development classes at Collin County Community College and Cerro Coso Community College. Melissa is married to a wonderful man named Rick and has beautiful daughter named Katy, a dog named Dixie and a cat named Tinkerbell. When not at work, she enjoys watching Katy’s sporting events, scrapbooking and just hanging out with family.

Alyssa Smith

Alyssa has been a part of the Mudpie Team since February 2007. She started her career as a teacher in the Lil' Explorer's Class. She currently serves as a part of our management team at Mudpies. Most likely, if you have a student enrolled in the secondary building, it will be Alyssa's smiling face that greets you every day. She is happily married to Joe and they do not have any children of their own yet.

Elizabeth Villegas

Elizabeth has been a part of the Mudpie Team since May of 2007. She has been a teacher in our Pre-K program since then. Currently, she continues to teach math and science in our secondary building in the mornings and works as a part of the management team in the afternoons. If you have children enrolled in the Primary building, Elizabeth is there to see you out in the evenings. She is married and has 3 wonderful children who all attend Mudpies.

Teaching Staff

Teachers at Mudpies & Lullabies are required to participate in annual training through college course work or staff development provided throughout the program year. Additionally, teachers are encouraged to obtain certifications and advanced degrees in child development.

We are a college-friendly employer and offer incentives to teachers who successfully complete coursework. All staff at Mudpies must maintain current CPR and First Aid certification. Additionally, every employee is required to submit to a State of Texas and FBI background check prior to employment at our school.
